Musician + music educator + broadcaster based in Guildford, UK

Radio

With a deep passion for radio and Latin American music, Dani Roade has brought his sonic storytelling to leading stations including Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide FM, Balamii, Voices Radio, and Brixton Radio. His broadcasts weave together warm musical soundscapes with powerful messages of solidarity, hope, and resistance.

For me, radio is the antidote to a dehumanised musical experience: one controlled by platforms and algorithms that decide for us how we listen. There is something undeniably human about being accompanied by another soul through a collage of lovingly compiled sound. My connection to radio as a listener drove me to start telling my own stories through this medium, building musical narratives and encouraging conversations about how sound shapes us all.

Brixton Radio

My monthly residency at Brixton Radio explores salsa, cumbia, Latin soul and alternative sounds. I also invite friends and inspiring creatives to spark some really fascinating conversations about art, diaspora, and identity.

Tierra Querida

I produced and presented this series for Oxide Radio. In these 90-minute shows, I delved into some of the most beautiful, heart-wrenching classic ballads from Latin America. It’s a work I’m extremely proud of.

In 2025, I presented a special episode of the series live from Gilles Peterson’s We Out Here festival, subtitled “Songs of Resistance”. You can listen to each episode below.

SODIUM! Radio

SODIUM! was my first testing ground for making online radio. It was ultimately a short-lived project, but the episodes that came of it hold a dear place in my heart.
